Vermiculites are a hydrous silicate mineral which is classified under phyllosilicate. The expansion of the mineral on heating is termed as exfoliated vermiculite. It is formed by weathering or hydrothermal alteration of Biotite or phlogopite.
1. Character: Non-toxic, flavorless, lightweight, corrosion resisting, netural PH 6.5-7.5 etc, Less Dust.

Raw Vermiculite: 0.3-1mm, 1-3mm, 2-4mm, 3-7mm
Silver Expanded Vermiculite: 10-40mesh, 20-40mesh, 1-3mm, 2-6mm, 4-8mm etc.
Golden Expanded Vermiculite: 10-40mesh, 20-40mesh, 40-60mesh, 1-3mm, 2-4mm, 3-6mm, 4-8mm ect.

Why In Agriculture,always used in soilless growing media and seed germination?
Exfoliated vermiculite is combined with other materials such as perlite ,peat or composted pine bark compost to produce soilless growing media for the professional horticulturalist and for the home gardener. These mixes promote faster root growth and gives quick anchorage to young roots. The mixture helps retain air, plant food and moisture, releasing them as the plant requires them.
