Expanded perlite is the perlite ore preheating and instantaneous high temperature baking expansion is made of an internal honeycomb structure of white granular materials. The principle is: Perlite ore by crushing formed a certain size of ore, the preheating and baking, rapid heating (above 1000 DEG C) and sand moisture vaporizing and in softening containing glassy sand internal expansion, the formation of porous structure.

Using in Agriculture  

Perlite is extremely effective in horticultural applications to lighten the soil, allow more air around the roots of plants and to both help retain water and improve drainage.

 
 

Using in Soilless Potting Mixes

when perlite is used as a growing medium,Perlite makes moisture, oxygen and nutrients readily available to plants.

Because of the unique shape of each particle, plus its permeability, moisture and nutrients can cling to the crevices until the plant needs them,

while the granular quality provides quick drainage of excess moisture and allows space for oxygen.

 

Using in insulation
Perlite is used as an ingredient in low to medium temperature refractory elements (up to 850°C) and it is used to build and/or coat ovens, furnaces, etc., and as a bonding material for joining refractory pieces.
